About Us

My name is Laura Hermitage and I am a 17-year-old student in Oakville, Ontario. I created Braided to help children in the Halton Region of Ontario who have been impacted by COVID-19.

With schools and business closed, children who depend on schools for meals and mental health support are often going without and the financial crisis has led to higher unemployment levels and housing insecurity. The bracelet proceeds will support charities that provide food, shelter, and mental health services to children and families.

Our Team

Braided is about kids helping kids. Our volunteers are students (ages 8 to 20) that are making bracelets to support children in our community most affected by COVID-19.

Each handmade bracelet includes a description of the charity it supports as well as the name and age of the student artisan. Most bracelets take over an hour to make. Although the palettes for the bracelets are consistent, they are one of a kind pieces with slight variations.

We hope you love your beautiful bracelet that symbolizes us coming together to help children in need.
